LaTresa Baker (Plainview)

LaTresa Baker, 76, of Plainview passed away Friday, March 24, 2023. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, March 29 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

LaTresa was born to Elgan James Washington and Gertie Mae VanHorn on September 6, 1946. She grew up in Oklahoma and Texas. She married Charles Wayne Baker on November 1, 1967. LaTresa and Charles lived in Germany for some time while Charles served in the military. After the service, they decided to live out the rest of their lives in Plainview and raise their family. LaTresa loved children and was very active in girl scouts, PTA, served as a boy scouts leader, cooking, and always loved and cared for her many grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Charles (Butch) Baker; sister, Lorene Clark of Fayetteville, Arkansas; children, Douglas Baker and wife Danni of Houston, Casandra Gary and husband David of Plainview; seven grandchildren, Nathan Serna, Wyatt Baker, Holden Baker, David Gary III and wife Angel, Dalex Gary and wife Stormy, Daelon Gary, and DeLynn Gary; two great-grandchildren, Xzamian Gary, and Serenity Gary.
