Lillie Terrell (Plainview)

Lillie Bell Reid Terrell, 96, entered into the presence of her Lord, September 18, 2016. Visitation will be held at Kornerstone on Tuesday, September 22, 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM. Funeral services will be held in the Kornerstone chapel Wednesday, September 23, 10:00 AM.

She was born August 25, 1930, in La Mesa, Texas, to Grady Lee Reid and California Jane Howard Reid. On January 20, 1951, Lillie married “Mr. Wonderful,” a handsome farmer, Glenn Scott Terrell, whom she met at the local skating rink. They were married 44 years.

After spending her early years in Texas, she rode in the back of a pickup with her family to Northern California. She lived there throughout the depression years until her junior year of high school, when she returned to Texas and graduated from Munday High. Lillie moved to Plainview to attend Lippert’s Business School before starting her career at the Hale County ASC Office. She loved all sports but was especially fond of roller skating. She played roller hockey and competed in skate dancing, where she met her future husband. After a short courtship, they married and moved to Edmonson area. Glenn farmed, and they started their family. Micheal Scott was born in 1952, and Harley Glenn followed in 1953. In 1970, they moved to Plainview. She worked in banking, travel, and insurance. Lillie enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and cooking; but her greatest joy was being “Grandmother” to three grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Glenn; son, Micheal Scott; parents; two brothers, Grady Howard Reid and Glendal Lee Reid; and one sister, Bulah Faye Coady.

Surviving is her son, Harley Glenn and his wife, Carol of Plainview; three grandchildren - Amanda Dawn Blair and husband Jason of Glen Rose, Tracy Glenn Terrell and wife Nicole of Lubbock, Tanner William Terrell of Lubbock; six great-grandchildren - Halie Hodges and her husband Tristan, Cody Schovajsa and his wife Kylie, Pvt. Landon Glenn Terrell, Courtney Blair, Cru Terrell, Madison Blair, Ryler Terrell, Ava Terrell; great-great grandson’s - Hudson Schovajsa and Maverick Hodges; and best friend Hellon Wilbur of Mineola, TX.
