Madelyn Estelle Mills Neel (Plainview)

Madelyn Estelle Mills Neel, 87, of Hale Center, Texas passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 in Temple, Texas. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Kyle Brock and Taylor Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview, Texas.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel.

Madelyn was born to James and Ina Mae Tongate in Waco, Texas. She pursued her education at Texas Tech, where she studied Interior Design and became a proud sister of Zeta Tau Alpha. Her creativity flourished as she became an award-winning Master Florist, dedicating her talents to The Rose Shop and The Flower Nook, where her arrangements brought joy to many. A committed member of the Texas Master Florists, Madelyn channeled her love for floristry into community service, lending her time and talents to the American Cancer Society. She was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church in Plainview, where she found joy in being a part of the congregation. She enjoyed traveling, dancing, and two-stepping which brought her immense joy. Madelyn’s adventurous spirit and personality were a source of inspiration for all who knew her.

Madelyn is survived by her husband, Coney Neel of Hale Center; two sons, Greg Mills and wife Penny of Marble Falls, Jim Mills and wife Ranae of Fredericksburg; grandchildren, Leah Oliver and husband Micah of Rosanky, Kelsey Albright and husband Baron of Kingsland, Sherah Schuessler and husband Ryan of Mason; great-grandchildren, Caden and Duke Oliver of Rosanky, Thomas Albright of Kingsland, Ollie Schuessler of Mason; step grandchildren, Chance Frye, Kelsey Neel, Kevin Neel and wife Chazz, Kristen Ammons and husband Garrett; step great-grandchildren, Hayden Frye, Aspen Neel, Braelen Neel, Cambren Neel, and Kase Neel.

Madelyn is preceded in death by her husband, Franky Dene Mills; parents, James and Ina Mae Tongate; and sister, Mary Ann Tongate Bengston.
