Maria Ester Chavez (Tulia)

Maria Ester Chavez, 77, of Tulia passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit with Father Hector Madrigal officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Maria was born on July 28, 1946, in Harlingen, Texas to Refugio and Paula (Garcia) Ybarra. She married Manuel Flores Chavez, Jr. on October 30, 1964 at Saint Williams Church in Tulia, Texas. She loved her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. Maria was a member of the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit. She is preceded in death by her parents, Refugio and Paula Ybarra, her son, Gabriel Chavez, one brother, Gilberto Ybarra and one sister, Antonia Hernandez. She is survived by her husband, Manuel Flores Chavez, Jr. of Tulia, her daughters, Michelle Subealdea and husband Eddie of Tulia, Marcella Sanders and husband Oba Joe of Tulia and Laura Chavez of Ruidoso, New Mexico, her brother, Jorge Ybarra, her sisters, Raquel Lopez, Rebecca Ybarra, Refugia Ybarra, Yolanda Hernandez and Martha Perez, her grandchildren, Gabriela Marie Chavez, Lee Anthony Perez, Ricardo Ramirez and Carlos Subealdea, her great grandchildren, Payton Perez, Jackson Chavez, Jesiah Chavez, Beau Perez, Jade Ramirez and Julian Chavez.
