Maria Moralez (Plainview)

Maria U. Moralez, 84, of Petersburg passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021. Maria was born on January 5, 1937, in Tlahuapa Guerrero, Mexico. She married Anacleto Moralez in Muleshoe, Texas in 1974. They were lifelong residents of Petersburg. Her life in service to her family and her community was evidenced in the love and respect demonstrated towards her as the matriarch of the family.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 17, 2021, at Abernathy Church of Christ with Mark Hegi officiating. Burial will follow in the Petersburg Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held at 11:00 A.M. until service time on Friday, December 17, 2021, at the Church of Christ in Abernathy.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents; her 5 siblings: Luis Uriostegui-Maldanado, Micaela Uriostegui, Juan Uriostegui-Maldanado, Artemio Uriostegui- Maldanado, and Aurora Uriostegui-Maldanado; and her 3 sons: Jesse, Richard, and Raymond Martinez. She is survived by her husband Anacleto Moralez, her daughter Maria, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
