Mary Ellen Jennings, 88, of Tulia passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Central Church of Christ with burial following in Rose Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Central Church of Christ.

Mary Ellen Jennings was born in Knox City, TX on March 28, 1937, to Francis Louis Montandon, SR. and Bessie Ferguson Montandon.

She grew up in Knox City until the 5th grade when the family moved to Tulia to farm. She graduated from Tulia High School in May of 1955 and married Carl Jennings in August of 1955. They lived in Canyon and Amarillo Texas in the early years of their marriage but spent the rest of their lives in Tuia where they raised their family.

She attended beauty school in Amarillo and was a beautician for 30 years where she loved helping women look their best. She was an excellent baker, and everyone especially enjoyed her pies and apricot rolls. She loved opening her home to friends and family and feeding them. She loved the Lord and was a member of Central Church of Christ in Tulia for many years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers F.L. Montandon Jr, Tommy Montandon, James Montandon and her husband Carl Jennings.

She is survived by her daughter Lori Wright (husband Randy) of Daingerfield, TX; her son Jay Jennings of Tulia, TX; grandson, Jared Wright (wife Cassandra) of Monrovia, California; granddaughter Jordan (husband Matt Richardson) of Mansfield, TX and many beloved nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
