Mary Sue Wheeler (Plainview)

Mary Sue Wheeler a beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother transitioned into her heavenly life on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at the age of 88.

Funeral services will be held at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. with Ron Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens.

A visitation will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview.

Sue was born on April 9, 1937 to Homer and Ola Johnson in Leonard, Texas. She moved to West Texas with her family in the early 1950’s and eventually to Plainview, Texas in the late 1950’s. Sue married the love of her life John Tate Wheeler on June 15, 1973 and was married for 51 years. Sue spent her life as a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She had the strength and wisdom to tirelessly teach and lead her children and grandchildren the love of Jesus, where she built her home on the cornerstone of Christ. She continually put her trust in God’s will and provision rather that her own. She loved her shopping trips to Walmart and visiting with friends that she would meet along the way. She loved her flowers and watching them grow and bloom. As well as eating snacks and playing with her great grand babies. She also enjoyed giving her dog Rocky a hard time about eating too much. Her riches was not money but a home full of love, laughter, and conversation and she was not above pulling pranks. Even if it meant having Papa lay on the floor and fake an injury. She considered herself blessed beyond measure.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Ola Johnson; one infant great grandson, Craig and her uncle Joe.

She is survived by her loving husband, John Wheeler; one daughter, Tommy Sue Weiser of Plainview, Texas; one son Shawn Wheeler of Alamosa, Colorado and eleven grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
