Michael Glenn Mahagan (Plainview)

Michael Glenn Mahagan, 59, of Kress passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025 in Plainview, Texas. A memorial service will be at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors.

Michael was born on December 1, 1965 to Glenn and Glenda Mahagan in Plainview, Texas. Michael graduated as the Valedictorian from Kress High School. He furthered his education at Texas Tech University, graduating with honors and earning a Bachelor's Degree that would pave the way for a successful career as an IT Tech in the web design industry in the Dallas area. Michael was known as a computer geek, but those who knew him best understood that his true joys lay in his family and passions. He loved spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews, with whom he created lasting memories filled with laughter and joy. His adventurous spirit was evident in his love for travel, and he found joy in dancing to his favorite rock music. Friends and family remember the light in Michael’s eyes when he was joking around with his brother and sisters often encouraging him to partake in a bit of harmless fun.

Not only was Michael deeply rooted in his family life, but he was also a member of the Kress Methodist Church, where he found community and fellowship. Known as a "computer geek," Michael had an unquenchable curiosity and a passion for tinkering, often taking things apart just to see how they worked. His inventive spirit extended to his love of model trains and rockets, hobbies he cherished deeply. Now that Micheal has made it to Heaven, his mind is now clear again and he is at peace.

He is survived by his parents, Glenn and Glenda Mahagan of Kress; one brother, Mark and Gretchen Mahagan of Plainview; two sisters, Melissa Emmons of San Angelo, Melanie and Dustin Cook of Kress; seven nieces and nephews, Kyle and Emily Mahagan, Katie Mahagan, Garret Emmons, Grant and Bailey Emmons, Taylor Emmons, Kelby Cook, and Allie Cook.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Donna Moreno Home and Staff and Interim Hospice for their excellent care.

Memorials may be made to Kress Methodist Church and Garrison Institute on Aging, 6630 Quaker Ave, Suite E, Lubbock, Texas 79413.
