Norma Sue Sisemore (Plainview)

Our sweet mom went to be with our Lord on June 9, 2025. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church in Hale Center, Texas on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Anthony Sisemore officiating. Interment will follow at Plainview Memorial Park. A visitation will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview. Funeral arrangments are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

Norma Sue Lindsey Sisemore was born on February 2, 1942, in Sasakwa, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of William Cephus and Dessie Lela Birdwell Lindsey. She attended school in Abernathy and Hale Center. She met the love of her life Billy Gene Sisemore in high school at Hale Center. They were married at the Mayfield Baptist Church on June 11, 1960. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked for about 27 years for Hi-Plains Hospital in Hale Center until it closed. She also worked at UMC in Lubbock, and then retired from working at Prairie House in Plainview. She worked as a substitute teacher for the Plainview school district and the Hale Center school district. She was a substitute librarian at our public library in Hale Center. She loved to read, sew, and cook. She loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 58 1/2 years, six of her seven siblings; Tressie Mae Brower, Evelyn Faye Wright, Melvin Roy Lindsey, Elvin Loy Lindsey, Bobby Jay Lindsey, and Almeta Marie Burkhalter.

She is survived by her children and their spouses; Billy and Denise Sisemore of Knob Noster, MO, Jerry and Melissa Ann Huffhines of Hale Center, Rev. Anthony and Lori Sisemore of Dumas, Mitchell and Gayle Sisemore of McKinney, six grandsons and four grand daughters, five great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters and one sister, Jerry and Shirley Stejskal of El Reno, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Hale Center or Hale Center Public Library.
