Norman Edward Wuthrich, 84, of Plainview passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025 in Plainview. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 14, 2025 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Nathaniel Misch officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.
Norman was born on October 31, 1941 to Johnny and Nina Wuthrich in Littlefield, Texas. He was the 3rd child of 5 children. He had 2 brothers, Arnold and Edmund and 2 sisters Virginia and Eleanor. Norman was a graduate of Littlefield High School in 1959. Soon after graduation he enlisted in the AirForce and was stationed in the Philippines for 4 years as a Veterinary Helper. After returning from the Services Norman enrolled and attended West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas where he earned a Bachelors in Agriculture. Norman then taught Agriculture for 2 years in Three Way School District out by Littlefield. Norman married Gloria in 1973 and lovingly cared for Doak and Shay as if they were his own children. Norman worked for the Avalanche Journal in Lubbock as well as the Texas A&M Experiment Station in Lubbock and Happy Texas, for around 30 years. Norman finished up his career at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Prison System in Plainview Texas. Norman was an avid member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Plainview. He was a man of God and always put God, family, and work first. Norman also farmed and raised various livestock his entire life. His animals were the love of his life. He battled Parkinson’s Disease with all his will until it took his life. With GOD’S WILL he is healed!!
He is preceded in death by his parents Johnny and Nina Wuthrich, his brothers Edmon and Arnold, his sister Eleanor Kruegar.
He leaves behind a sister Virginia Grisham of Littlefield, Texas, stepson Doak Dendy and his wife D’Anne of Daphne, Alabama, stepdaughter Shay Ensminger of Hico, Texas, 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Also, 1 niece Vivian Wallace and family of Lubbock. Nephews Elbert and Edwin Wuthrich and families both of Lubbock, Carl and Dan Kruegar and families of Florida, Brad Grisham and family of Littlefield, Texas and Allen Grisham and family of Post, Texas, and countless great nieces and nephews. Special Loving Extended family and staff at the Sante Fe House in Plainview, Texas and the many friends and co-workers, and Norman had many.
