Patricia Evelyn Kurklin Avery (Plainview)

Patricia Evelyn Kurklin Avery, 79, of Petersburg passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023 in Petersburg, Texas. Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 5, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Petersburg, Texas. Burial will follow at Petersburg Cemetery in Petersburg, Texas. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview, Texas.

A visitation will be held 6:00 P.M. Friday, August 4, 2023 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel.

Patricia was born on March 13, 1944 in Pomona, California to Joe Howard Kurklin & Alice Evelyn. She married Dewayne Hoyt Avery on May 14, 2004. Her hobbies included gardening and scrapbooking. She enjoyed attending sporting events and loved to cheer her grandchildren on from the bleachers. Patricia was a very loving, selfless, caring, and devoted person. She selflessly took care of her husband, Dewayne, when he was sick. She was known for putting others before herself even when she was sick. She never met a stranger and loved everyone that she met. She was a bright bubbly lady whose legacy will live on in her children.

She is preceded in death by her father, Joe Howard Kurklin and her brother, Howard Eugene Kurklin.

She is survived by her mother, Alice Evelyn Kurklin of Petersburg, Texas, Texas; her husband, Dewayne Hoyt Avery of Plainview, Texas; her sons, Jace Green and wife Amy of Tolar, Texas, Kelvin Green and wife Carrie of Idalo, Texas; four grandchildren, Zade Green, Keather Green, Bay Green, Kaitlyn Green; two great grandchildren, Tanzleigh and Holden Millican.
