Mary Patricia (Wheatley) Webb, 84, passed away quietly and peacefully on Saturday, September 5, 2026, in Plainview, Texas.

Pat was born November 16, 1941 in Garza County, Texas on her family’s cotton farm west of Post Texas. She attended elementary school at Southland, Texas, and graduated Post High School in 1960. She was the third of four children born to Henry and Posey Wheatley. She grew up surrounded by family including grandparents who lived in the area as well as many cousins. She was involved in extra-curricular activities during high school including 4-H programs, cheerleading, and Homecoming Queen her senior year.

Pat received a bachelor’s degree in Business Education from West Texas State in Canyon Texas and was part of the first women’s volleyball team at the college. She moved to Plainview in 1965 and taught business classes at Plainview High School including typing and basic accounting. She met Stewart Webb who was an optometrist with his father Joe Webb. Pat and Stewart were married in Plainview on July 28, 1967 at the 9th & Columbia Church of Christ. They have been active members of that congregation their entire marriage Pat taught bible classes in children’s Sunday school and in the Ladies Bible Classes.

Pat and Stewart raised their five children in Plainview and worked alongside each other in Stewart’s optometric practice for 40 years. Pat was the receptionist, bookkeeper, and office manager for the business. She was very involved for several years in the Soroptimists service organization and thoroughly enjoyed her time with that program. She and Stewart were active in the Plainview community throughout their life and have many friends who loved her dearly.

Pat was predeceased by her parents, her sister and brother-in-law Barbara and Daymon Ethridge of Post,TX, her brother Paul Wheatley of Marble Falls, TX, as well as her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Edgar Webb of Indianapolis, IN, Dale and Margaret Webb of Ivanhoe, TX, and Morris and Virgie Webb of Tulia, TX. She also lost her niece and nephew Johanna Webb and Russell Webb.

Pat is survived by her husband of 59 years Stewart Webb and their five children; Cindy (Tommy) Holloway of Granite Shoals TX, Joy (Patrick) Hodgson of Lubbock, TX, Joe (Stacy) Webb of Lubbock, Kent (Rendi) Webb of Abernathy, TX, and Daniel Webb and Angel Vijarro of Abilene TX. Pat’s greatest joy and delight were her three grandchildren whom she adored; Erin Hodgson (25); Henry (17) and Kate (11), children of Kent and Rendi Webb. She was blessed to have three bonus grandchildren; Jordan Gariby, Jackson Gariby, and Maddie Ballard. She is also survived by her brother Kent Wheatly and Betsy of Austin, brothers and sisters in law Pete and Linda Webb of Rockwall TX and Clem and Sue Webb of Beaumont, TX. Pat had many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved very much. She always enjoyed it when they stopped by the house to visit.

A visitation will be held Tuesday evening, September 8, 2026, from 5 to 6:30 pm at Kornerstone. Services will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at 10am at the 9th & Columbia Church of Christ in Plainview with a gravesite visit after the service.
