Pattie Jo Brookins (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Pattie Jo Brookins, 67, died on Wednesday, September 2, 2020. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 5, 2020 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Carl Smiley officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

Pattie was born on May 1, 1953 in Lockney to Willie Cornelius and Bertie Mae Phillips. She grew up in Lockney. She married Freddie Brookins on January 20, 1973.  She worked as a CNA for the Tulia Health and Rehabilitation Center for several years and for Home Health for over 20 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Curtis Mae Sims and Ruth Yarbrough and one granddaughter: Serena Basaldua.

She is survived by her husband: Freddie Brookins of Tulia, her four children: Kent Brookins and wife Amanda of Tulia, John Brookins and wife Pauline of Tulia, Mary Powell of Tulia and Freddie Brookins, Jr. and wife Terri of Tulia, her six sisters: Shirley Branch, Pauline Monroe, Virginia Mathis, Joyce Washington, Margaret Babers and Wanda Spillman, her brother: Willie Phillips,

16 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
