Phyllis Powers (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas-Phyllis Irene Seavey Robie Powers, also known as “Pip” or “Nana Banana”, passed away on Thursday, September 15,2022. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 19, 2022, at 10:00 am in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Lopez officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2022, from 5:00 to 6:30 pm at the funeral home.

Phyllis was born on February 25, 1936, in Morristown, New Jersey to Ralph Clifton and Grace Merl Akins Seavey, Sr.

She married John Dee Powers on March 4, 1977. She worked for AAA for 23 years and Texas Millwrights for 40 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Tulia. A special “thank you” goes to Casey Ramirez and Angela Briones.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her siblings, Duke Seavey, Frederick Seavey, Frances Seavey, Merl Seavey, her daughter: Heather Powers and her son: David Robie.

She is survived by her children: Cheryl Vaughn and husband Gary of Tulia, Wayne Robie and wife Lisa of Edwards, Missouri, Janice Griffin of Gruver, Michael Robie of Midland, and Kevin Powers of Tulia, two brothers, Don Seavey and wife Jean of Reno, Nevada and Bob Seavey and wife Carol of Upstate, New York, her grandchildren: John Wayne, Skyler, Andreia, Regan, Ryan, Sarah, Bridget, Robert Winston, Amanda, Brandi, Charles Colby, James Earl, Brittnie, Lindsey and Michael Brandon, 27 great grandchildren and 11 great, great grandchildren.
