Phyllis "Vonnie" Savage (Tulia)

Kress, Texas--Phyllis Yvonne “Vonnie” Savage, 87, of Kress, passed away on Wednesday, July 26th, 2023. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 29th at 11:00 A.M. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia, Texas. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia, Texas.

Phyllis was born on October 22, 1935, to Chester and Ida Turner in Amarillo, Texas. She married the love of her life, Clarence “Rusty” Savage, in December of 1955 at First Baptist Church of Kress, Texas. Phyllis had many hobbies and talents which included being an interior decorator, seamstress, and a bookkeeper. She was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served her community. She was so loved and will be missed by many friends and family.

Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband; Clarence “Rusty” Savage, her parents; Chester and Ida Turner, her sisters; Billie Hales, Neatha Stewart and Mary Stovall.

Phyllis is survived by her brother, Mike Turner; her nieces, and nephews, Gary and Amy Stovall, Gina Burdette, Sue Methena, Jean Wood, Linda Hales, Billy and Linda Savage, Pam Spikes and Duane, Vanessa Carroll, Miranda Harvey; and many great nieces and nephews.
