Rita Alcozer Ybarra, 60, of Plainview passed away on May 16, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Northwest Church of Christ in Plainview, Texas. Interment will follow at Plainview Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Plainview, Texas.
Rita Alcozer Ybarra a beloved and dedicated Christian, mother, sister, and friend passed away at the young age of 60. Rita was born on October 22, 1965. Rita was a very family driven mother instilling the love of Christ and family importance to her children. She loved laughing, playing bingo, crafts and spending time with her sisters, family, and friends. She showed a rare long suffering love with anyone she met, from her days in food service to her days in the community surrounded by family and friends. Rita impacted the lives of many sharing Jesus through word and example. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
Rita is preceded in death by her parents; Pablo Alcozer and Amalia Cardenas Alcozer, brother; Joe Alcozer, sisters; Dominga De'leon and Aussie Ramirez.
Rita is survived by her sons; Rodney Ybarra Jr. and wife Sarah, Domingo Ybarra and wife Lana, Joseph Ybarra, daughters; Miranda Y Cantu and husband Crespin Cantu Jr., Veronica Mireles and husband Sergio Mireles, Monica Y Cordero and husband Joe Cordero, grandchildren; Elizabeth Ann Ybarra, Eliah Waynn Ybarra, Ethan Joe Ybarra, Jazmin Ayliah Cantu, Crespin Cantu III, Carlos Ybarra-Cantu, Mia Cantu, King Cantu, Sergio Mireles jr, Marcus Mireles, Maleni Bee Mireles, Izaiah Rodriguez, Jaylnn Rodriguez, Kane Rodriguez, and Levi Ybarra, Great Grandson Westyn Rae Valdez; step grandchildren; Loretta, Damian, and Ezekiel Castro.
