Ron was born on October 3, 1948, in Littlefield, Texas, to Spencer and Maxine McCartie. Ron lived a fulfilling life and leaves behind cherished memories with his family and friends. Ron married the love of his life, Patty, in Plainview, Texas in 1971. He was a loving member of Sethward Baptist Church and Northside Baptist Church, serving his congregation as a music leader. Throughout his life, Ron enjoyed pursuing his passions. He was a dedicated fuel delivery driver, for Douglass Oil Company, serving the petroleum transportation industry for over 30 years. Whether rain or shine, Ron could always be counted on to ensure timely and safe delivery. When not behind the wheel, Ron found solace in fishing at his favorite spots. He also had a competitive side and often showcased his skills as a bowler. Ron was an avid Nascar fan, cheering passionately for his favorite drivers with each race. In addition to his career and hobbies, Ron also had a knack for managing TNT fireworks for 14 years in Plainview, Texas. Ron was so loved and will be missed by many friends and family. Ron is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patty Lynn Johnson McCartie; his daughter, Keisha Dawn Haley; and brother, Daniel McCartie. Ron is survived by his brother, Tom McCartie and wife Becky; his daughter, Tiffany Settle and significant other Otis Hollingsworth; five grandchildren, Mackenzie and significant other William, J.J., Sydnee and husband Bobby, Jaylee and significant other Kerry, and Pyper; four great grandchildren, Spencer, Jennifer, Amber, and Levi.
