Rosemary Caylor Norfleet, 94, of Plainview, Texas passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at her home in Plainview, Texas.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026 in the chapel at First Baptist Church in Plainview, Texas. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

Rosemary was born February 28,1931 in Floyd County to Annie Lee Carter Caylor and James Garland Caylor. She was born into a lively family who loved a good story, a funny joke and a well orchestrated prank. They worked very hard and always watched out for each other. All the brothers called Rosemary Wowie. Rosemary attended school in Floyd County until high school then transferred to Plainview where she graduated from Plainview High School in 1948. She married John Norfleet August 8, 1948. They were just a few days short of 70 years of marriage when he passed away in 2018. They made their home on the Norfleet family farm where John was born. It was there that they raised Kathie, David, Cynthia, and Nancy. It was a home full of warmth where everyone was welcome and cared for. Rosemary and John became active members of Valley View Baptist Church where they formed deep friendships and raised their children. After Valley View closed in 1974, they joined First Baptist Church in Olton and were active there for 15 years. In 1990 they built a home on the outskirts of Plainview and left the farm. They joined First Baptist Church of Plainview at that time. Rosemary and John were true partners in their ranching and farming operation. Rosemary had a sharp pencil and took good care of the accounting part of their business. She was very proud of the fact that her books balanced every month. When they began running cattle in the Santa Rosa area of New Mexico, Rosemary continued her custom of feeding everyone who came to her table. She could create a chuck wagon on a tailgate, car trunk, or an RV. She was very good at business and a phenomenal cook, but she was best in her role of Mamaw or Honey Mother. With 12 grandchildren and many friends and cousins the farm was like summer camp. There were hayrides, scavenger hunts, fishing in Running water Draw or just about anything anyone could think up. Rosemary was especially creative when they took the grandkids on vacation. Boat races were a favorite in mountain streams. Everyone got a prize, even if the boat they built sank. When she was a teenager Rosemary told her older sister her dream was to get married, plant an orchard and have a bunch of babies. That is exactly what she did, and she and John almost always seemed to be having a very good time. Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, John, son David, her siblings Patricia Caylor Duyka, El Paso, Drewie Dan Caylor, Waco, James G, "Jerry" Caylor, Plainview, Donald Garth Caylor, Colleyville, John Lawrence "J.L." The family is grateful to Patricia Longoria for 4 years of amazing care that enabled Rosemary to stay in her own home in spite of her poor vision and declining strength. Also, for the last 18 months, Mary Zavala made it possible for her to have 24-hour care. We will always appreciate her quiet, wise care. For many years her dear friend, Cathy Williams, styled Rosemary's hair, drove her anywhere she wanted to go, including casinos, provided friendship and lots of sweet treats. We are grateful.
