Sandra Faye Eden (Plainview)

Sandra Faye Eden, 74, of Plainview passed away peacefully on July 15, 2025 surrounded by her family who loved her beyond measure. She was born on January 17, 1951 in Sweetwater, Texas to Melton Ballard and Lucille Adams. Sandy lived a life full of grace, love and strength - a guiding light to everyone who knew her.

Sandy was the devoted wife of Jacky Eden, her sweetheart and best friend of 57 years. Their marriage was one of unconditional love, deep friendship and lasting commitment. Together they built a home where family always came first.

She is survived by her daughters; Shelia Rinne and Shawna Maciel and was preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Shelly.  Sandy was a proud and loving Nana to her grandchildren; Jesse "JJ" Medellin, Michelle Rinne, Jericho "JD" Medellin and Kaylee Alcorn - all of Plainview - and she now reunites in heaven with her grandson Michael Rinne.

Sandy was blessed with eleven great grandchildren; Jerimiah Medellin, Kristen Rinne, Jazlene Medellin, Jericho Medellin Jr, Josiah Medellin, Bellah Rinne, Jayde Medellin, Brayden Rinne, Jaycie Medellin, and Jasmine Medellin - each one carrying a piece of her heart and legacy.

She is also survived by her siblings; Frank Ballard of Lubbock ,TX, Fred Ballard of Houston TX, Linda Gould of Plainview, TX: and Rida Cate of Plainview, TX. Sandy is also survived by her lifelong best friend, Carla Bradshaw of Plainview, TX.

She loved being surrounded by her family -  any reason to gather was enough for her heart to light up. She cherished every visit, every hello at the door and every moment with those she loved. Whether she was watching her favorite game shows or Lifetime movies, Sandy found joy in the simple things especially when they involved her family. She worried over them, cared for them fiercely and always made sure her babies were safe - no matter how big or small their hurt.

Sandy was more than a Mom or Nana - she was a best friend, a safe place and a soft heart with strong arms. Even when upset she never let a loved one walk out the door without a hug and "I love you". She forgave easily, supported endlessly and loved without conditions.

She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, loyalty and deep enduring love. Her presence was a gift. Her loss is immeasurable and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
