Sherry Gail Smithee Harrison King (Plainview)

Sherry Gail Smithee Harrison King, 90, of Plainview, Texas passed away Sunday, November 30, 2025 in Lubbock, Texas. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors.

Sherry was born on August 17, 1935 in Pampa, Texas to Homer Calvin and Lura Eleanor “Nell” Smithee. She moved to Plainview, Texas in 1944. She gave her heart and life to Jesus Christ and joined College Heights Baptist Church. Sherry grew up in a Christian home and loved Jesus dearly. She attended school in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School. Sherry later attended college and earned her LVN license. She married Don Merle Harrison on November 1, 1953. They had two children, Kandy Jo Harrison and Don Brent Harrison. Don Merle Harrison passed away in July of 1963. She later married Guy Oliver King in 1968. Together they had one daughter, Misty Gail King Johnson. Guy Oliver King passed away in January of 2007.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Homer Calvin and Lura Eleanor Smithee; one sister, Electra Dawn Smithee; her first husband, Don Merle Harrison; her second husband, Guy Oliver King and two grandsons, Matthew Harrison and Jacob Lee Harrison.

Sherry is survived by three children, Kandy Jo Harrison Hardin of Lubbock, Texas, Don Brent Harrison and wife Meredith Amick of Lubbock, Texas, Misty Gail King Johnson and husband Tony Webb Johnson of Abernathy, Texas; six grandchildren, Krystal Michelle Hardin Box and husband Josh, Brandy Nicole Hardin Joiner and husband Nick, Bren Alyse Harrison, Nicholas Calvin Harrison and wife Katia, Jonathan Tyler Johnson and wife Chelsie, Mackenzie Taylor Jackson and husband Trinnon; eight great grandchildren, Jadyn Tanner Box, Logan Gage Box, Damon James Monroe, Holley Brooke Monroe, Elektra Ann Monroe, Cooper Webb Johnson, Kenzlee Jade Jackson, Knox Charles Johnson and one great great granddaughter, Makayla Sanchez.
