Sherry Ann Reese (Plainview)

Sherry Ann Reese, 85, of Plainview passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 22, 2025 in the chapel of Kornerstone Funeral Directors. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 5-6 P.M. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors.

Sherry was born on February 6, 1940 in Claude, Texas to Sherwood and Eula Ridley. She graduated from Las Animas High School in Los Animas, Colorado in 1958. She then graduated from Northwest Texas Hospital School of Nursing in 1961 in Amarillo, Texas. She married Floyd Truman Reese on December 26, 1961. Sherry worked as an RN while Truman served in the U.S. Army before deciding to attend Anesthesia School in Wichita, Kansas. She worked as a CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) for over 35 years in Plainview and the surrounding communities. She was a member of the Garland Street Church of Christ in Plainview, Texas and City Park Church of Christ in Floydada, Texas. Sherry found her greatest joy in watching her children and grandchildren flourish. She took immense pride in their accomplishments, particularly when they showcased their livestock projects, an activity that brought together her love for family. Sherry was so loved and will be missed by many friends and family.

Sherry is preceded in death by her parents, Sherwood and Eula Ridley; husband, Truman Reese; two brothers, Harold Ridley and RJ Ridley of Las Animas, Colorado; and one sister, Mary Baker of Las Animas, Colorado.

Sherry is survived by her sister, Betty Boyle of Grand Junction, Colorado; son, Steven Reese and wife Sherri of Plainview; daughter, Tami Vaughan and husband Brad of Perry, Kansas; grandchildren, Baily Nutt and husband Corbin of Floydada, Bryce Reese and wife Lysa of San Ysidro, New Mexico; Eryn Vaughan and Noah Vaughan of Perry, Kansas, and Brighton Reese of Plainview; three loving great grandchildren, Gatlin and Staylee Nutt of Floydada, and Brynlee Reese of San Ysidro, New Mexico.
