Shirley June Pomykal, 87, passed away on March 31, 2026.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas, with Tim Harper officiating. Interment will follow at Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors.
A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Shirley was born on August 17, 1938, in Plainview, Texas, to Floyd and Johnnie Lee Chaney. She lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures that brought joy to those around her.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Her vibrant spirit shone through in the many activities she enjoyed-from cheering on the Dallas Cowboys to sipping coffee while browsing thrift stores. She found great happiness in tending her beautiful yard and expressing her creativity through painting ceramics.
Shirley was well known in her family for her love of cooking, as well as her enjoyment of card games and puzzles. She especially loved Dairy Queen and treasured the time she spent sharing meals and making memories with friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Johnnie Lee Chaney; her sons, Ronnie Raymer, Donnie Jo Raymer, David Wayne Raymer, and Cy McCravey; and her siblings, Faye, Marie, Hazel, Floyd, Horace, Curtis, and Bud.
Shirley is survived by her children: Derrell McCravey and wife Lorrie of Glen Rose, Texas; Dave McCravey and wife Lori of Crosby, Texas; Lance McCravey and wife Jackie of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; Tonya McCravey of San Antonio, Texas; and Paul Renfroe and wife Doreen of Plainview, Texas.
She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and numerous friends and extended family.
