Teresa (Teri) Chavez, a Licensed Vocational Nurse and resident of Plainview, TX, died on December 22, 2020, at the age of 61. Teri was born in Olton, TX, on January 21, 1959, to Pablo Chavez and San Juana Garcia Chavez. She graduated from South Plains College in 1996 with a degree in nursing and had a career that spanned 24 years. On July 9, 2007, in Plainview, TX, she married David Dominguez, her lifelong best friend.
Teri enjoyed knitting and brought joy to her family, friends, and the community with her unique knitted creations. She also loved to garden and had a great fondness for flowers. Above all, she was a spiritual woman and dedicated her life to Christ. As a member of Plainview First Assembly, she was baptized on February 18, 2007, and continued to grow in Christ by completing her walk to Emmaus in November 2018.
Teri had a special way of connecting with everyone to make them feel like family. Her care for others was evident through her career as a nurse and mentor, her dedicated life with David, and her fierce love for her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Teri is survived by three daughters, Patricia Voyles and Josh of Plainview, Nicole Galindo of Aurora, CO, Gina Isaguirre and Leon, Jr. of Plainview; one son, Joe Luis Pedroza, Jr. and Crystal of Tyler, TX; three brothers, Adam Chavez and Frances of San Antonio, Alfred Chavez and Rosa of Killeen, Robert Chavez of Plainview; one sister, Eva Marroquin and Robert of Plainview; ten grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, David Dominguez; her brother, Ernest Chavez, her sister, Rosie Anguiano and her parents.
A celebration of life is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on January 4, 2021 at Plainview First Assembly at 1300 I-27. Pastor Nelson Gonzalez will officiate. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors.
