Teresita V. Garcia (Plainview)

Teresita V. Garcia, 91, of Plainview passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023 surrounded by her family.  A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  Burial will follow in the Plainview Memorial Park under the care and direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

A rosary will be recited on Tuesday evening, January 2nd at 6:00 P.M. in the Kornerstone Chapel.

Teresita was born on November 4, 1932 in Mexico to Gabriel and Epitasia Velasquez.  She immigrated to the Texas in 1981.  Teresita was a homemaker and loved having all her family together and spending time with them.  She was a member of the Catholic church.  Teresita enjoyed sewing, and making her own clothes.  She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, singing and praying.  She also took great pride in her appearance and was always well kept.

Teresita was preceded in death by her husband, Matias Garcia; her parents, Gabriel and Epitasia Velasquez; and her siblings, Cupertino, Joel, Macrina, and Jorge Velazquez; one Daughter-In-Law, Rosie Garcia and one Son-In-Law, Jesus Galindo. 

Survivors include her children and their families, Nativida Garcia and her children, Francisco, Jesus, Diana, Maria del Rosarro, and Alberto; Armand Garcia and wife Christina and their children, Hector, Brandon, Eric, Lupita, Michale; Jose Reyes Melchor and wife Yolanda and their children, Jessica, and Daniel; Maria Garcia and husband Tomas and their children, Sergio and Juan; Antonio Garcia and wife Sylvia and their children, Roxana, Crystal, Angelica, and Luis Antonio; Artemio Garcia and his children, Gabriel and Clarisa; Luz Juarez and husband Lencho and their children, Lorenzo Antonio, Liz, and Isabela; Jose Garcia and wife Anita and their children, Diego and Emanuel; Luis Garcia and wife Isaura and their children Matias and Natalie; 27 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren; siblings, Petra, Rodolfo, Roberto, Lucas, and Susana.
