Toni Holton (Tulia)

Toni Holton, 79, of Tulia, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit with Father Hector Madrigal officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

A visitation will be held from 5:30 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., followed by a rosary from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, in the Kornerstone Chapel.

Toni was born on March 20, 1947, in Paducah, Texas, to Rufus and Martina (Arrendondo) Medina. After graduating from high school, she found love and partnership with Truitt Holton, marrying him on September 26, 1981, in Clovis, New Mexico.

Toni’s career was marked by a deep commitment to caring for others. She worked at the Piggly Wiggly in Tulia and later, as the activities director for Tule Creek Nursing Home, brought joy and engagement to many lives. Her compassion led her to become a private caregiver to the elderly, where she provided comfort and companionship with a nurturing heart.

An active member of her community and faith, Toni was a devoted Guadalupana at the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit. She cherished her faith deeply and generously shared her warmth and kindness with strangers and loved ones alike.

Toni’s talents were many—she had a remarkable green thumb, earning Yard of the Week honors twice for her beautiful garden. She was a gifted seamstress and an exceptional cook, always ready to share her gifts with family and friends. Her love for sports, especially NBA basketball and football, was rivaled only by her competitive spirit when playing any kind of game.

One of the greatest joys of Toni’s life was spending time with her grandchildren and supporting them at school events and activities. She also delighted in long shopping trips, where her husband Truitt’s patience was a quiet testament to their enduring bond.

Toni’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, faith, and generosity. She will be fondly remembered for her warm heart, lively spirit, and the countless ways she touched the lives of those around her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Martina Medina; and her brothers, Daniel Medina, Joe Medina, Sylvester Medina, and Rudy Medina.

She is survived by her husband, Truitt Holton of Tulia; her daughters, Yvette Witt and husband Steve of Lubbock, Ann Parr and husband Seth of Anna, Texas, and Kellie Proctor and husband Scott of Lubbock; her sisters, Guadalupe Medina of Belen, New Mexico, Margaret Vigil of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Pauline Garcia of Wichita, Kansas, Juanita Rocha of Amarillo, Texas, Martha Medina Rojas of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Leonora Chavez of Canyon, Texas, and Juanita Hernandez of Canyon, Texas; and her grandchildren, Kaitlyn Amundson and husband Lucas of Reno, Nevada, Autumn and Danika Parr of Anna, Texas, and Wyatt Proctor and Reid Proctor of Lubbock, Texas.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the following: St.Jude Children’s Research Hospital, National Arthritis Foundation and American Cancer Society
