Tricia Speed, a cherished soul, was born on June 4, 1970, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Glen and Carol (Gunnels) Davis
A proud graduate of Tulia High School in 1988, Tricia's journey took a joyous turn when she married her best friend, Shane "Speedo," on March 23, 1990, in the warmth of her Nanny Christine Gunnels' home—a moment filled with love and happiness that would define their life together.
Throughout her career, Tricia served her community diligently, contributing to the county as she worked for the Justice of the Peace, the Tulia Police Department, the Sheriff's Department, and the County Treasurer. After a fulfilling tenure, she retired but soon returned to work, spending two more years at Mid-Plains Rural Telephone Co-Op, demonstrating her unwavering dedication.
Tricia had an adventurous spirit, finding joy in beach days, camping at the lake in her RV, and attending concerts, where she could revel in the moment and share laughter with friends and family. Above all, she cherished her role as an aunt, lovingly cheering her nephews on at their school events, always eager to support them with encouragement.
Her infectious laughter and warm personality lit up every room, leaving a unique mark on the hearts of those she encountered. Tricia's ability to forge lasting friendships was a testament to her generous spirit and love for life. She embraced life with an open heart and a radiant smile, which endeared her to all who knew her.
As we remember Tricia, let us carry forward her legacy of kindness and joy, celebrating the beautiful life she lived and the love she shared with us all. She will be dearly missed yet forever cherished in our hearts.
