In Loving Memory of a Beautiful Soul
Viola Reyes Foster, age 66, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025 surrounded by the love of her family. Born on June 20, 1959 in Plainview, TX, she spent her life showing others what true love, faith, and strength looked like.
Viola was a woman whose heart lived in her kitchen. Cooking wasn’t just something she did, it was how she showed love. She was a skillful cook at Covenant Hospital and Wayland Baptist University for many years until she retired in the summer of 2025. Her recipes filled every room with warmth, laughter, and the comforting feeling of home. Whether she was preparing a holiday feast or a simple meal on a regular afternoon, she found joy in feeding others and bringing people together. She believed that sharing food meant sharing love, and everyone who sat at her table felt that love deeply. Viola’s love for taking care of children was something she was also passionate about. She worked at a day care center in Plainview, and had her own daycare at home, enjoying her time with all of the children under her care. Viola also had an unwavering love for the Texas Longhorns and the Minnesota Vikings, cheering them on with true passion and pride through every season.
More than anything, Viola adored her family. She was the foundation, the listening ear, and the warm hug everyone needed. She never missed a chance to remind her family of how proud she was of them. Her wisdom guided them, her strength inspired them, and her unconditional love held them together.
She is survived by her husband Jeremy Foster, who she married on June 11, 2005, three children Tacho (Alva) Ramos, Dolores Ramos, and Kaylee (Toby) Perez, her grandchildren who she loved dearly Breana Figueroa, Aaron Ramos, Courtney Ramos, Danyel Carillo, Josh Carillo, Bobby (Karla) Aguirre, Evren Perez, her brothers Bobby Reyes, Elbardo (Zoila) Trevino, Juan “Johnny” Trevino, and her sisters Andrea T. Esparza, Delia (Trinny) Marroquin, many nephews and nieces, as well as countless friends and loved ones whose lives were touched by her spirit and compassion, who will continue to cherish the memories made around her kitchen table and the lessons she taught simply by living with kindness.
Viola left a mark on every life she touched. Her legacy will live on through the meals prepared in her honor, the stories shared, and the love she poured so freely into the world.
A celebration of her life will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas. A rosary will be held at 6:30 on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas. Friends and loved ones are welcome to attend and share in honoring her memory. She is preceded in death by her parents Eulalio and Marcelina Trevino, her brothers Juaquin “Gene” Lopez and Alejandro “Alex” C. Reyes.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort knowing she is at peace. Her love will continue to surround us—just like the smell of her cooking, warm and unforgettable. “What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us.”
