Wanda Jean Hancock (Plainview)

Wanda Jean Hancock, 84, of Spur, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home with her husband and her son by her side on June 18, 2026.

A visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home in Ralls, Texas Sunday, June 21st at 3:00P.M. Graveside services will be held at Silverton Cemetery in Silverton, Texas at 3:00P.M. Monday, June 22nd, 2026. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

She was born on April 21, 1942, in Stamford, Texas, to William and Bulah Inez Chambless. Wanda lived a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work. Alongside her husband, she spent her entire life farming and ranching, caring for cattle and sheep with dedication and pride. On October 29, 1960, she married the love of her life, Ted Hancock, and together they shared 66 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Wanda found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved riding horses, playing classic country music, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing the mandolin and sharing her love of music with those around her. 

Wanda and Ted especially enjoyed traveling together in their RV, exploring new places and creating memories that would last a lifetime. Known for her kind spirit and generous heart, Wanda was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and faithful friend. Her family was the center of her world, and she treasured every moment spent caring for and loving them. Her warmth, compassion, and unwavering support touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Wanda was a lifelong member of Highway 70 Church of Christ, where her faith guided her throughout her life and served as an example to her family and community. 

Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband of 66 years, Ted Hancock of Spur; her son, William Gordan Hancock and wife, Ginger of Spur. Her daughter, Rhonda Gail Schufford; and her treasured grandchildren, William Scott Hancock, Dusty Jaye Hancock, and Makahla Griffin. Wanda leaves a legacy of faith, love, hard work, and devotion to family. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her and in the countless lives she touched throughout her years.
