Watha Lee Cantwell (Plainview)

Watha Lee Cantwell, a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant with over 20 years of service, passed away peacefully on September 30 2024, in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was born on December 20, 1956, in Amarillo, Texas. Watha grew up in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School in 1975 before attending Amarillo College, where she pursued her passion for helping others through her work in physical therapy.

Throughout her life, Watha was known for her deep love of reading, particularly the Bible, which formed a cornerstone of her life. Her passion for gardening brought joy and beauty to her home, and her enthusiasm for Amazon shopping reflected her vibrant personality and willingness to explore new interests. Watha cherished her time spent with family, taking great delight in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Watha is survived by her son, Lennis Craig Peters and his wife Misty of Canyon; her daughter, Melissa Lee Adlong and her husband Chris of Decatur; her mother, Bonnie Cantwell of Plainview; her brother, Benny Cantwell and his wife Connie of Plainview; six grandchildren, Dalton Peters and his wife Kylee, Shelby Barfield and her husband Dalton, Christopher Adlong, Kody Peters, Mason Adlong, David Peters; and five great-grandchildren, McKenna Barfield, Dakota Peters, Stetson Peters, Copeland Barfield, and Irene Barfield. She was preceded in death by her father, Worthy “Shorty” Cantwell.

Visitation will be held on October 3, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Plainview - Kornerstone Funeral Directors. A graveside service will take place on October 4, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Parklawn Memorial Gardens with Mr. Hugh Miller officiating. Arrangements are under the personal care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.
