William Jackson Mull, 83, of Plainview, Texas passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026. A visitation will be held at 12:30 P.M. Friday, April 10, 2026 at College Heights Baptist Church in Plainview, Texas. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 10, 2026 at College Heights Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
William was born and raised in Hale County, where he spent his formative years in a farmhouse that instilled in him a deep appreciation for family and community values.
On April 24, 1963, William married his sweetheart, Glenda Gayle Ringwald. Together, they shared a lifetime of adventures, creating cherished memories as they traveled to Ruidoso and enjoyed peaceful camping trips. Their love story was marked by a profound commitment to each other and their family, earning William the endearing title of "Papo" among his grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable joy.
William devoted 44 years of his life to serving his community as a police officer, culminating in his retirement as Chief of the Plainview Police Department in 2014. His unwavering dedication to public safety and his unwavering commitment to his community left an indelible mark on the lives of those he served.
William is survived by his loving wife, Glenda; his son, Matthew Mull; three brothers, Ronnie Mull, Johnny Mull and David Mull; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Mull; his son, William Mark Mull; two brothers, Ronald Mull and Jimmy Mull; and his sister Patsy Waller.
